A new housing possibility
This morning I called Mrs H, the landlord of a house I wanted to like but didn’t. She’s a grandmotherly woman, widowed, grown kids. Had lots of advice for me, from how to deal with change to where to get good second-hand furniture. She had mentioned that she had another house, newer, and did I want to see it?
I said I’d love to see the newer house.
She didn’t have time to show it to me this morning, but she did tell me where it was. She said, “I don’t usually do this, but I’ll tell you where it is. I’ve already checked you out and you seem a good sort.”
This house, which I’ve only seen from the outside, is just off the center of town on a side street you wouldn’t know exists. It’s a white cape of recent vintage, has skylights, abuts town land near the RR tracks. The only downside that I can see is that there is a condo development going up behind it, but Mrs H tells me they’re putting up a fence.
I’m seeing it tomorrow at 2pm.
